I never thought I would create a leather bag under my label. But when my friend and collaborator Martel Francois asked me if it was possible for our collaboration between his lifestyle company, Martel B Francois NYC, and my shoe brand, J.FitzPatrick, to offer a bag I thought to myself ‘why not?!’ And so I found a supplier and we knocked out a sample.
It may seem like an unorthodox choice, but blue is actually a real workhorse color for footwear: It can play many roles spanning different seasons, styles, and levels of formality. And as blue is my favorite color, you can imagine that I am always looking to incorporate it into my outfits, as you can clearly see from the photos presented.
Assuming leather doesn’t and/or shouldn’t crease is like believing in unicorns. It’s incredible how many people believe in unicorns these days. The question is why? I have spoken on this subject a million times before, and will probably do so a million times more.
